- Graduates in the class will be provided with advanced general vocational training, enabling them to intervene with high expertise in the care, management, training and research processes in one of the areas relevant to the various health professions included in the class (podiatrist, physiotherapist, speech therapist, ophthalmology assistant, neuro-psychomotor rehabilitation technician for the developmental age, occupational therapist, professional educator). - Graduates who have acquired the necessary scientific knowledge, ethical values and skills relevant to the rehabilitation professions and further deepened the study of the discipline and specific research, at the end of the training course possess advanced care, education and prevention skills in response to priority health problems of the population in the pediatric, adult and geriatric age and to issues related to the quality of services. Based on the acquired knowledge, they are able to take into account, in the planning and management of personnel in the health area, the needs of the community as well as the development of new methods of work organization, and of technological innovation and information technology, also as a reference to the forms of remote support or distance learning, the planning and organization of the pedagogical- educational as well as the homogenization of operational standards to those of the European Union. - Graduates develop, partly as a result of the experience gained through adequate professional activity, an integrated approach to organizational and management problems of the health professions, mastery of the techniques and procedures of the health care management, with respect to their and others' skills. The methodological knowledge acquired also allow them to intervene in the educational and research processes which are typical of the above-mentioned areas. - Graduates in this class will therefore be able to: apply knowledge of basic science relevant to the specific professional figure needed to make decisions on the organization and management of health services provided by the medical personnel responsible for rehabilitation, within healthcare facilities of low, medium or high complexity; use the skills of health economics and business organization necessary for the organization of health services and the management of the available human and technological resources, evaluating the cost-benefit ratio; oversee specific areas of health organization for rehabilitation; use the research methods and tools in the organization of health services; implement and evaluate the impact of different theoretical models in the operation of the organization and management of health services; plan the optimization of various types of resources (human, technological, information, financial) available to health facilities of low, medium and high complexity; design and implement training programs for upgrading and continuing education relating to the health facilities of reference; develop teaching skills for specific professional profile within the tutorial activities and coordination of training in basic, complementary and permanent training; communicate with clarity on issues of organizational health with employees and customers; critically analyze the ethical and deontological aspects of the professions in the health area, even under a multi-professional integration perspective. - The teaching facilities must therefore identify and build, through the appropriate selection of the disciplines of the core course, as well as of related specifically vocational scientific areas, specific educational programmes for the health professions included in the class, reserving to each healthcare profession no less than 50 credits.
Graduates acquire, during the entire curriculum of their individual professions: ability to learn the principles of economic analysis and the basics of the public economy business; in-depth knowledge of the essential elements of the business organization with particular reference to health services; familiarity with the principles of public law and administrative law applicable to the relations between the authorities and the users involved in health services; the essentials of human resources, information and technology management; the ability to apply appropriately the organizational analysis and control of expenses and management in health facilities; the ability to verify the application of the results of research activities in relation to the continuous improvement of quality of care; the analysis and cost accounting for the management of facilities providing health services to medium-high complexity; use of the cost/effectiveness, cost/utility-benefit methods as well as quality control methods; knowledge of the essential methodological elements of epidemiology; ability to detect changes in the costs of health services as a function of integrated planning and management control; appropriate use of the indicators of effectiveness and efficiency of health services for specific diseases and groups of diseases; capability of identifying the essential components of organizational and management problems of technical staff in rehabilitation facilities of average or high complexity; knowledge of the rules for the protection of workers' health (in particular, radiation protection); ability to operate in compliance with the main laws that regulate the health care organization, as well as the rules of ethics and professional liability; knowledge and capability to apply appropriate techniques to individual and group communication and to the management of interpersonal relations with patients and their families; ability to identify environmental risk factors; assessing their effects upon health and to design interventions to protect the workplace; advanced knowledge of the healthcare services of other countries; ability to manage working groups and to apply appropriate strategies to promote multi- professional and organizational integration processes; independent study and lifelong learning abilities; ability to perform a systematic literature search, including databases, and related periodic updates, a critical reading of scientific articles; advanced research and teaching skills, as well as advanced strategies of personnel management regarding the specific professional figure; advanced written and spoken knowledge of at least one of the languages of the European Union; skills useful to the management of computer systems services, and of self-training processes; guided internship experience at by health and specialized training services in Italy or abroad, with gradual assumption of responsibility and professional autonomy. In particular, according to the different training and previous work experience, graduates of this class should reach the following skills: working with other professionals and with the administrations responsible for any initiative aimed at improving the professional activities of the health sector of jurisdiction in relation to individuals and the community, to simple systems and those kind of complex rehabilitation; plan and manage undergraduates' advanced training, ensuring their technical and scientific growth, as well as maintaining a high level of personal motivation; ensure the continuous information flow towards the working group of the most recent methods and tools provided by the continuous technological and scientific development of the sector, with particular reference to the opportunities offered by the applications of bioengineering, bioinformatics and bioelectronics to rehabilitation; draw interdisciplinary and inter-professional recovery and rehabilitation plans, related to the individual user to user groups; participate, acting as consultants to the initiatives for the removal of architectural barriers; manage interpersonal relations in the work environment, harmonizing the contribution of the different professionals involved in the field of rehabilitation, avoiding duplications and maximizing the rehabilitation process; take care of the cost/benefit analysis of the various rehabilitative procedures for evaluating their effectiveness and the duration of the induced benefits; keep constant international relations with the relevant health facilities, especially in European Union, in order to encourage the maximum homogenization of the levels of intervention
To be admitted to the final examination, student must have passed all the exams, and have had a positive assessment of all internships. The final exam consists of the preparation by the student, of an original dissertation and of its presentation. The final score It is expressed out of 110. For those who reach the overall score of 110/ 110, the President of the examining Board may propose the attribution of praise, which might only be assigned unanimously. The examining Board consists of not less than 7 and not more than 11 members, appointed by the Rector on the recommendation of the Board of the Degree Course, and includes at least two members appointed by the Professional Registrar, if any, or from professional associations identified by special decree of the Minister of Health on the basis of representativeness nationwide. The final test gives rise to the award of 6 credits.
