To obtain the degree, students should have acquired 180 credits, including credits related to the knowledge of an European language, besides Italian. The educational programme entails: - 19 mandatory examinations; - 1 elective examination; - 1 computing skills test; - 1 language test; - A practice period in associated facilities - Final examination on course-specific issues. 12 elective credits may be acquired in other degree courses of the Faculty of Agriculture as well as in other Faculties of the University of Palermo or of other Italian and foreign Universities.
The course aims at providing training enabling to carry out professional activities related to the following areas: - Consultancy and planning of artefacts of business interest such as wells, spring water pipes, hill pools, watering and drainage plants, greenhouses, barns, rural side roads and in the choice of machines and equipment for soil cultivation and for the primary processing of agricultural products; - Technical advice to the judicial authorities on issues related to agricultural land; - Employment in the public administration for the implementation of European Union programmes and the use of European economic resources in agriculture. The course prepares for the following professions: - Quantitative, physical and chemical technicians; - Life science technicians; - Agricultural technicians.
To be admitted to the final examination, students should: - Have passed all the examinations provided by the educational programme and acquired credits for core, class specific, related, elective activities, as well as for the knowledge of a foreign language and for computing skills; - Have done a practice period in a University facility or in other public or private agencies, as per educational regulations; - Have written a report on practice activities which will be subject to specific assessment.
