Starting from adequate core competences in Psychology (general Psychology, Psychobiology and Physiological Psychology, Psychometrics, Psychology of development and psychology of education, social Psychology), and interdisciplinary groundings (in the field of Physiology, applied Biology, demo-ethno-anthropological studies, Logic and Philosophy of Science, History of Philosophy, general and social Pedagogy, contemporary History, History of Science and technique, general Sociology), the course then becomes more methodological and operational. Through mandatory class-specific activities, related to general and physiologic Psychology, Psychology of develo0pnet and education, social and industrial Psychology and dynamic and clinical Psychology. These are accompanied by other educational activities aiming at putting in relation the core and class-specific subjects with the neighboring subject area faced by Psychology in its application (Zoology, Biology, Philosophy, Pedagogy, Psychiatry, Neurology, Child Neuropsychiatry, Social Statistics, Sociology), orienting the curricula towards the needs of the labour market (Industrial and organisations psychology, Dynamic Psychology, Clinical Psychology). 12 credits are assigned to elective educational activities. Students will also experiment on their own, through the stage period, the observation of crucial traits and features of their future professional role and through specific educational activities providing useful competences for developing their professional identity and fitting into the labour market. After a six-month post lauream professional practice period, graduates of this course may access the national qualification examination for accessing section “B” of the Registrar of Psychologists and carrying out technical-operational professional activities. For enrolling in section “A” of the registrar, in accordance with the Europsy Certification standards, students should complete a five-year educational programme, and then a one-year professional practice period, before taking the national qualification exams. The Degree course is structured as follows: The first common two-year allowing the acquisition of psychological knowledge base ; - A third year varied in different paths, depending on the 2nd cycle Courses, among which students can make a choice . The natural continuation of the Degree Course in " Psychological Science and Techniques " is represented by CdLM Class 51 in accordance with procedures and criteria set by the Degree Courses academic regulations SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE The focus of the degree course in " Psychological Science and Techniques " is the acquisition of the theoretical bases and operational elements of General, social and development psychology; of the psychophysiological mechanisms underlying the behaviour; the comprehension of the dynamics of human relationships , at the individual, family, groups and institutional level; of the scientific inquiry methods in the field of psychology , from the clinical perspective to the methodology of statistical research, and to the use of computer data processing methods. The aim of the course is to provide basic training to act professionally , with technical and operational tasks within coordinated activities and under the supervision of a 2nd cycle graduate in Psychology, carrying out prevention, care , support , promotion , evaluation and development activities in various areas , such as health , services to the couple and the family , management and development of human resources , work in institutions and social contexts and communities . Specific courses aim at the acquisition of theoretical and methodological tools to operate effectively in: - Activities aimed at the diagnosis, understanding and support of individuals, families and groups, in order to promote their development and wellbeing, and to limit the discomfort ; - Analysis and development of communication processes ; - Prevention , assessment and support interventions and support in the psychological distress related to problems of maladjustment and social deviance , psychological trauma, physical and mental illness , risk behaviors; - Interventions aimed at the support , with particular reference to residential and semi - residential facilities for children , families , the elderly , drug addicts, psychiatric patients ; - Activity in public and private services ( mother and child services, educational and training services, socio-educational institutions and schools community housing and social services for disadvantaged youth ), aiming at promoting development, knowledge and health; - Assessment of the child and parental figures, both in the psychological intervention in support of the mother- child and father -child relationship, in situations of social and relational distress (e.g. maternity at risk etc. . ), and in support of parenting in the critical moments of the life cycle ; - Programs and interventions for the empowerment of individuals and of the local community; - Activity in public and private services designed to achieve optimum use of human resources in work and organizational contexts , through the identification and understanding of the social - psychological processes that underlie performance , interpersonal relationships and professional objective; - Design of interventions with public and private institutions for the promotion of well-being, and of organizational and human resources and professional development; - Evaluation of the profiles of local communities to define the quality of life of neighborhoods, towns, services and organization and development of associative networks spontaneous, informal and formal in the territory; - Programs to promote coexistence, with respect to the multicultural and multiethnic processes support interventions in the context of care facilities, in emergencies and critical cultural mediation.
-residential and semi-residential facilities for children, families, the elderly, drug addicts, psychiatric patients, -public and private services (maternal and child services, educational and training services, socio-educational institutions and schools, community housing and social services to juvenile distress), aimed at promoting development, knowledge and health; -public and private services aimed at the optimum use of human resources in the workplace and organizations.
To obtain the degree, students must have acquired 180 credits including those relating to the final examination (6 credits). The final test has the objective of assessing the level of maturity and critical skills of the undergraduate, with respect to learning and to the acquired knowledge, on completion of the activities provided by the course syllabus. The final examination consists of an oral test, related to one of the issues object of the Degree Course or to a topic selected in a list prepared by the Board of the Course with a resolution, and published on the Course website. During the interview, students must show their ability to analyze, examine and critically revise the proposed topic. The communicative impact, originality and creativity of presentation work will also be evaluated.
