The educational programme includes activities aimed at acquiring in-depth knowledge in the physical education and sport disciplines, as well in legal, economic and psycho- sociological disciplines. In particular, graduates acquire the skills necessary to operate effectively within the legal and economic frameworks, where the system of physical activities and sports is placed. For these purposes, the 2nd cycle degree enables graduates to : - Know the basics regulations of the sports system, given the complexity of its multiple structures (institutional set-up, court structure, administrative structure). - Understand the issues related to the interrelations between sports law and state law in the light of the principle of autonomy of sport regulations. - Know the economic principles and dynamics in the management of companies involved in various capacities in the field of sport. - Know the state and federal regulations, to operate at the organizational and management level in the context of institutions within the institutionalized sports system. - Know the regulations in force with respect to safety at work, health protection, anti-doping policies, investigations on physical fitness for the exercise of physical activities and sports, safety and management of sports facilities, functional metabolic analysis on practitioners of physical activities and sports. The two-year course provides, at the first year, legal, economic and sport-technical teachings, under a management perspective, and at the secondo year legal, economic, sociological and psychological teachings. The educational offer also includes, during the 2nd year, a specific teaching of English Language and Translation.
Profile: Sports Manager Functions: - Planning, organization and management of the different types of services and facilities for sports and physical activities; - Management, planning and coordination of organizations working in the field of sports and physical activities - Organization and management of sporting events - Management, with a business economic view, of organisations in the field of sport and physical activities; - Counselling, representation and/or assistance before the organs of sports justice, as well as negotiation activities on behalf of those involved in sport and physical activities, as experts of: tourist sports services, facility management; media and communications; events; sports contracts and arbitration procedures; - Planning, coordination and management at companies providing tools, technologies, goods and services for sports ; - Planning, coordination and management of sports activities in various disciplines at associations and sports clubs, sports promotion agencies and sports organizations at large; - Development of the institutional, economic and legal aspects of information and communication in the relevant sector. The course educational objectives are to provide specific in-depth knowledge in sports, legal, economic and psycho-sociological disciplines. In particular, graduates will acquire the necessary skills to operate effectively within the legal, economic contexts of the system of physical and sports activities. For these reasons, the degree course enables graduates: - to know the normative bases of the sports system, in the complexity of its multiple (institutional, jurisdictional, administrative) arrangements; - to know the issues related to the interrelations between sports and state regulations in the light of the principle of autonomy of the sports law; - to know the principles and the economic dynamics of the management of companies involved in various sports activities; - to know the applicable national and federal laws, to operate at organizational and managerial level within the agencies of the institutional sports system; - to know the regulations in force with respect to workplace safety, health protection, anti-doping policies, fitness tests for sports and physical activities, safety and management of sports facilities, metabolic functional analyzes on sportsmen and women. Skills: Professional opportunities for graduates of the course are all related to the field of physical and sport activities, in positions of organization, command and control. In particular, graduates in Sports Management will be able to run gyms, sports centers and similar bodies operating in the field of sports. They will be able to organize and manage events and competitions both in private associations and public agencies(CONI, local authorities, public administrations operating in the field of sport). Further professional opportunities may be found in advisory and assistance activities in the field of sports contracts and justice, and in sport communication. The expected employment opportunities are all related to the activities of sports management. In particular, graduates of the course will be able to work in sports associations and companies, as well as in those dealing with recreational, school and tourism sports. They might also find professional opportunities in the field of school sports management, public administrations (CONI and local authorities). Further career opportunities are in the field of advisory, representation and/or assistance before sports justice bodies, negotiation on behalf of players in the field of sport and physical activities, as experts of sports contract and arbitration procedures; finally, they may find job opportunities in companies providing tools, technologies (including IT ones), goods and services for sports practice and sports communication.
The procedures for conducting the final test are described in special regulations approved by Rector’s Decree n. 1032/2014. The final examination consists in the preparation of an original written work with experimental, theoretical or design character, or of a short essay on a mono- or multidisciplinary theme, and in its discussion before an examining Board. The thesis work must be carried out under the guidance of a supervisor. The board must also determine and evaluate the candidate's original contribution. Details on the criteria for the attribution of the Degree Mark, expressed out of 110, with any praise, are given in the LM-47 Degree Examination Regulations. In any case, the assessment must take into account both the university curriculum of the candidate and his/her scientific maturity.
