The 2nd cycle Degree course in Italian Studies aims to increase the knowledge acquired by students (most of them with a first cycle degree in humanities), by refining and developing their critical skills. Its primary goal is to provide the most up-to-date research tools for each subject area, to deal with the complexity of the reality we live in. This goal will be achieved through a specialist insight of the content and knowledge already possessed as well as by fostering the aptitude for analysis and research. The skills acquired in these two years can be used in research, publishing, libraries, poly-functional centres, organization and cultural activities at public and private companies and organizations and in the field of creative activities for the social and advertising purposes.
According to this objective, and in the field of class-specific activities, the educational programme provides 54 credits in the foundational scientific-disciplinary area: Italian Literature, Contemporary Italian Literature, Italian Linguistics, Romance Philology, Italian Literature Philology.
The course also provides an English language workshop at the first year, in order to improve language skills.
Courses consists of frontal teaching and seminars, where, through an intense oral and written activity, content and methodologies will be deepened to obtain full critical and presentation skills.
Assessment methods are oral and written tests.
Workshop training activities are assessed through mid-term and final written and practical tests. The internship activities are assessed through a final report signed by the student, the delegate of the degree course, and by the head of the hosting institution and approved by the Board of the Degree Course.
The aim of the Course is the training of a 2nd cycle graduate holding a preferential title in various careers within the field of humanistic education and/or able to enter professional occupational areas, Publishing, advertising, research, organization and management of cultural events.
