The Degree course in Mechanical Engineering aims at providing students with the competences needed to face the issues related with the study of the operation, design, production, maintenance and control of mechanical artifacts: machines and plants. The achievement of the educational objectives is obtained through a programme providing for the preliminary acquisition of core competences of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (42 credits), followed by in-depth studies in specific mechanical engineering scientific sectors; a number of credits is also assigned to aerospace engineering subjects.
Profile: Junior Mechanical Engineer Functions: - activities that involve the use of standardized methodologies, such as the design, work management and testing of individual organs or individual components of machines, plants and systems, as well as of simple or repetitive systems and processes; - direct and instrumental surveys of technical parameters relating to machines and plants; Skills: The skills of graduates in Mechanical Engineering are related to the management of production lines and departments in mechanical and electromechanical industries, automation and robotics industries, companies and bodies for energy conversion, aeronautical industries and manufacturing companies in general. The design, installation, testing, maintenance and management of machines and systems. Professional opportunities: Freelance activity (Engineers Register - Section B) Mechanical and electromechanical industry Companies and agencies for energy conversion Manufacturing firms in general Companies operating in the plant engineering sector
To obtain the degree, students must have acquired 180 credits including those relating to the final examination (6 credits). The final test has the objective of assessing the level of maturity and critical skills of the undergraduate, with respect to learning and to the acquired knowledge, on completion of the activities provided by the course syllabus. The final examination consists of a written test, in accordance with the rules fixed every year by the Degree Course Regulations for the final examination, respecting and consistent to the calendar, the ministerial requirements and to the relevant Guidelines of the University.
