The possible professional opportunities for graduates of this Course are:
- managerial or high responsibility roles in the international relations, both between individuals and in institutional settings;
- Self-employment consultancy or collaboration with agencies, institutions, facilities and private companies in all fields requiring functions of connection between international actors or linguistic mediation;
- Field research experts or documentation research experts, with particular reference to the social and human sciences;
- Translators of written texts in various fields: from the technical-scientific, legal, bureaucratic and computer science sector, to the practical issues of economic and commercial activities and business at large;
- Linguistic mediators in public administration and public and private institutions to facilitate and mediate the confrontation in multiethnic and multicultural contexts, as well as in cultural tourism circuits;
- Professionals in the communication linguistic information techniques for the web;
- Experts in language education and training, in both institutional and private sectors, for the retraining of professionals and workers of development aid, economic, social and cultural integration, economic and productive activities;
- Specialised consultants in public agencies for protection of immigrant languages and, more generally, in relation to the language legislation of the European Union;
- Future foreign language teachers in the school;

Graduates of this course will be able to access a PhD course, in accordance with the ministerial regulations and individual universities regulations, or a second level University Master Course in accordance to the regulations of the organising university. Mandatory activities of the degree course aim at preparing for access to PhD courses in the following subject areas:
- Linguistics;
- Communication Sciences;
- Foreign Languages, literatures and civilisations.
Elective activities enable students to improve their preparation for these types of PhD courses and to facilitate access to other types.
Graduates of this Course may find teaching job in the school, once completed the process of teaching qualifications and competitive examinations required by law.
