The specific educational objectives of this 1st cycle degree are: to provide the competences needed for the design, implementation and management of systems for information processing and transmission, for managing telecommunication networks, for plant automation, for the management and safety of computer systems, and, more at large, to all high value added areas, which are typical of current information society.
The course provides for a training based on the core engineering subjects, such as mathematics and physics.
The course also provides the methodologies and techniques which are typical of information processing and transmission, to be applied within manufacturing companies as well as in private and public agencies.
The course enable students to choose between computer sciences and telecommunication without impairing access to the further 2nd cycle degrees in the fields of Computer Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering .
The course also provides the necessary skills to work effectively within public and private facilities and, thanks to the strong attention for core disciplines, it also provides adequate cultural groundings for the autonomous acquisition and upgrading their competences for the changes of the labour market.
